Yesterday was the annual fundraiser for the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation and once again Horsepower was asked to produce a video highlighting the work that they do in our local schools. It goes without saying that Celebrate Corvallis is a massive undertaking each year and it would not be possible without the support of the incredible staff at the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce; Cooper, Heather and Kacie do an awesome job making this event possible. This was my 12th year producing media, and the reason I keep coming back, despite the long hours and pressure involved, is the people I have had the pleasure of working with over those 12 years. My partner in everything Jodi, George Abele and Mike McInally make this event far more enjoyable than it should be. Mike particularly has allowed me to film him drinking at a bar, being arrested/tackled to the ground/sitting in jail/drinking in court, running down the sidewalk with a podium, and this year standing under a blanket "frozen" in a freezer holding a box of hot pockets and a beer with flocked snow in his hair (and accidentally on his suit). That doesn't even include the many, many jokes at his expense throughout the shows, or the jokes that we tried that didn't quite land as expected. Every year I wonder if the stress is worth it and every year I am reminded why it is. To all of the volunteers, guest announcers in the videos, graphic designers, caterers, AV and Alumni Center staff; thank you for making this event what it is. ... See MoreSee Less
